What is Functional Nutritional Therapy?
An evidence-based, whole-body approach to repairing, healing, and supporting your unique journey to wellbeing.
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is based on the scientific principle that foods in their most natural state provide the nutrients needed for the body to repair and heal and help us to reach an optimum state of vitality.
Each cell in our body needs to be nurtured in other for us to thrive. When cells are nutrient deficient, we go on a downward spiral and our body will start to develop warning signs that may develop into symptoms that are the underlying reason for your health issues.
To put this in an extreme simple, yet powerful way; think of your body as a car, we always must ensure it will have enough fuel so we can drive around. We also bring our car once a year to the garage for an MOT test to ensure we drive around safely. When a warning light shows up on the dashboard, we stop the car immediately and check if there is anything we can do to fix it. If not, we will bring the car to the experts for a thorough check. Easy as that. We may have to pay for it (and often more than we expect), but we agree to do so for our own ease of mind, and most importantly, to transport us from A to B.

Sadly, we do not look after our health in this simple way. We have forgotten what foods we need to fuel each cell of our body, we have lost the connection to understand why our body needs food (other than social and emotional reasons) and we do not listen to our body when it starts signalling warning signs. Instead, we ignore and just get on with it.

Why do we treat our body different than our cars? Ask yourself the question, what does actually get us from A to B, is it your car or your body?

Nutritional Therapy is about providing your body with the right mix and balance of nutrients to perform at its best and reconnect with food, whatever your goals are.

Who can benefit from Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is for everyone.

More than ever is it important to look after our own health. With the current pandemic still ruling our lives, people are becoming more aware of the price we pay if our health is failing.

The data that has been collected so far with regards to COVID-19 has shown that people with chronic conditions, such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and serious heart diseases are more likely to experience severe symptoms from COVID-19. Obesity and Diabetes both reduce the efficiency of a person's immune system. Diabetes increases the risk of infections in general.

Did you know that 70% of our immune cells reside in the gut? Therefore, it is vital that we look after our gut to ensure adequate immune health. How do we look after our gut? We need to reconnect with the natural foods that will fuel our bodies.

It is never too late to start. We owe it to ourselves to take control of our own health. My mission is to empower you to take responsibility for your health and wellbeing and give you the knowledge, support, and guidance to achieve your health goals.
What to expect from working with me?
First and foremost, an honest conversation. That is why I offer a free 20-minute discovery call. This will help us to explore together if I can help you or whether I may be able to refer you to a colleague within my professional network. If we both feel that I am the right person to help you with your health goals, we will decide together which of my services will benefit you the most.

My job as a Nutritional Therapist is to assess your current lifestyle, diet, and medical history to identify and address the root causes of your health concern(s). I make direct links between the different warning signs your body provides and any underlying dysfunction.

Whether you choose for a stand-alone consultation or health and wellbeing programme, your health journey will always start with a comprehensive medical questionnaire and food diary that you are asked to complete before your initial consultation.
